Debossing & foil stamping

A heated die pressed into journals and leather goods, bare for quiet texture, or through metallic foil for shine.

How it actually works

J
STEP 1
A die is made

Your logo is machined in reverse into a brass or magnesium die. It's a one-time cost, and reorders reuse the same die, usually at a reduced setup charge.

STEP 2
Heat plus tonnage

The heated die presses into the cover with serious force, permanently compressing the material into a crisp impression.

STEP 3
Blind, or through foil

Pressed bare, it's a blind deboss: quiet, tone-on-tone texture. Pressed through a foil film, the impression fills with metallic color.

J
STEP 4
Depth check

We check impression depth and edge crispness: deep enough to read at arm's length, never punching through the cover.

TRY ITStamp the cover

Pick a finish, then press the die into the journal.

Jansco pro tip

Reorders reuse your die, so setup is usually reduced the second time. When in doubt: blind deboss on leather, foil on paper covers.
